Brest university joins Association of Technical Universities

8937Brest State Technical University has been accepted into the Association of Technical Universities at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, BelTA has learned from head of the international relations department at the Brest-based university Vitaly Khaletsky.

The application was submitted by the academic council of Brest State Technical University. The application was studied and approved by the council of the association led by Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University Professor Anatoly Aleksandrov. A corresponding certificate was presented to representatives of the Brest-based university. Membership in the association is free of charge. To be accepted to the association, an educational institution needs to have a state accreditation, engineering faculties and experience in training engineering personnel.

Membership in the association is a kind of indicator of the university's standing. Brest State Technical University has been training engineers for more than 50 years. We have signed numerous cooperation agreements and academic exchange agreements with dozens of universities from more than 20 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Spain, Turkey, Hungary, Sudan, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia, Vitaly Khaletsky noted. The association arranges many thematic events, like conferences, meetings of scientists from partner universities, and runs international exchange programs for teachers and students. Membership in this organization offers a number of opportunities, like broader cooperation and more active communication with fellow scientists, as well as publication of research papers abroad.

The Association of Technical Universities at Bauman Moscow State Technical University was instituted in 1993 following the initiative of Russia's leading engineering universities. At present the association has over 130 members from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and other countries. Apart from Brest State Technical University, the association features Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Pavel Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
