Belarus' food exports hit $10bn record high in 2025

30/01/2026 15:01
MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Belarus has set a historic record: in 2025 food exports reached $10 billion, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“In 2025, for the first time in its history as a sovereign state, Belarus achieved the highest growth in exports of food products and agricultural raw materials. According to preliminary data, shipments totaled $10 billion, confirming the country's status as a reliable player on the global food market. Food exports account for one fourth of Belarus' total merchandise exports, making the agro-industrial sector one of the main drivers of the national economy,” the ministry reported.

The export portfolio is still dominated by dairy products, accounting for 40% of all shipments. Meat products are following closely behind with a 19% share, demonstrating the increasing competitiveness of Belarusian companies on the international market.

The geography of exports is steadily expanding: products of national producers are now supplied to 116 countries worldwide. The strongest growth has been recorded in CIS markets, Asia, and more distant regions, where Belarusian goods are valued for their high quality, safety, and compliance with international standards.

“This achievement is evidence of the resilience of the national model of agro-industrial development, based on deep processing, scientific support, and a strategic focus on foreign markets, as well as the effective work of the Agriculture and Food Ministry in developing diplomatic and trade ties with other countries,” the ministry emphasized.
