Some 8,806 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been cropped in Belarus,
BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Farmers have harvested 914,000 tonnes of grain maize (43% of the area), 47,000 tonnes (98%) of buckwheat, 21,000 tonnes of millet (98%), 310,000 tonnes of potatoes (56%), 60,000 tonnes of vegetables (53%), and 1,448,000 tonnes of sugar beet (31%).
According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the grain maize harvest pace is far ahead of last year: 13% of the target area was cleared as of 26 September 2023 compared to the current 43%.
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 2.335 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Grodno Oblast – 1.967 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.868 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 1.001 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 854,000 tonnes and Vitebsk Oblast – 781,000 tonnes.
