Belarus’ National Assembly, Arab Parliament sign MoU

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Arab Parliament was signed following a meeting between the speakers of both houses of the Belarusian parliament and President of the Arab Parliament Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi in Minsk on 20 July, BelTA has learned.

The memorandum was signed by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova and Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko on behalf of the National Assembly of Belarus, and by President Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi on behalf of the Arab Parliament.

During the meeting, participants emphasized that the memorandum will serve as a key step in expanding interparliamentary contacts. The established ties will gain a more systematic foundation and translate into practical outcomes, aligned with the spirit of the times and today’s demands.

The commitment to expanding economic and trade ties with countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East was also reaffirmed. The initiative to draft concrete economic proposals was supported by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, and these proposals will be prepared jointly.
