Belarus, Uzbekistan working on mutual recognition of product assessment results

03/09/2025 16:09
MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Uzbekistan will prepare an agreement on the mutual recognition of conformity assessment results for supplied products, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ State Committee for Standardization.

The 3rd Belarus-Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum featured panel sessions. During one of them, representatives of light industry enterprises of Belarus and Uzbekistan paid special attention to the application of innovative technologies and advanced international standards to ensure the creation of modern, high-quality products.

Chairwoman of the State Committee for Standardization Yelena Morgunova noted that the committee is now actively working with Uzstandard, Uzbekistan’s agency for standardization. A working group has been set up to prepare an agreement on the mutual recognition of conformity assessment results for mutually supplied products. The parties are now compiling a relevant list of products.

Yelena Morgunova emphasized the importance of this work for boosting trade between the two countries and strengthening economic ties. She called on her Uzbek colleagues to step up work on this agreement and to thoroughly elaborate proposals on the product list, taking into account the existing trade barriers.

In addition, the State Committee for Standardization and Uzstandard agency have signed contracts on the distribution of the state standards of the two countries and a memorandum of cooperation in conformity assessment and standardization.
