BREST, 28 July (BelTA) – Brest Oblast of Belarus and Uzbekistan’s Bukhara Region will implement joint educational programs under an agreement signed between the Main Department of Education of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee and the Bukhara Regional Department of Vocational Education,
BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Uzbekistan are keen to expand comprehensive cooperation, including in education. “In vocational education, we intend to introduce new joint educational programs. Today we held talks and want to build a bridge between Bukhara Region and Brest Oblast. This is of great importance for cooperation between our countries,” Head of the Bukhara Regional Department of Vocational Education Azamat Naimov said.
The delegation from Uzbekistan has already visited some colleges in Brest Oblast. The guests described the experience of their Belarusian counterparts as valuable and noted a number of practices they intend to introduce in Uzbekistan. “We are interested in Belarus’ experience of cooperation with employers, which is a key aspect. Our program includes meetings with companies, and this is truly important for us. We look forward to productive cooperation and want it to benefit not only colleges but all sectors involved in the development of vocational education,” Azamat Naimov said.
In addition to joint educational programs, the agreement provides for exchanges of experience, joint events, internships for teachers and vocational training instructors.
“Practice-oriented training is our top priority. Cooperation between vocational education institutions and employers is reaching a new level. In 2025, Brest Oblast opened 15 training workshops and production sites at enterprises where students receive hands-on experience using industrial equipment. This year we plan to open another 16 such facilities. Overall, we attach great importance to strengthening the material and technical base of our colleges. About Br25 million has been allocated this year for upgrades, including Br10 million for the purchase of modern training equipment,” Head of the Main Education Department of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Natalia Kalinovskaya said.
During their visit, the delegation of Bukhara Region will tour several colleges of Brest Oblast to learn about their competence centers.
