FM: Belarus will keep pushing for peace, creation, security and development

29/09/2024 09:09
MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) –Belarus will continue to push for peace and creation, security and development, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said at the General Debate of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, BelTA has learned

Maksim Ryzhenkov remarked that this year is very important for Belarus as the country has recently celebrated the 80th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazi invaders. The liberation became a starting point for a peaceful and creative period in the country's history. “We are proud to have built a welfare state, where the well-being of people is a top priority of national policy,” he said.
Next year, the world will mark the 80th anniversary of the UN. “How will the world approach this important date? With feuds and conflicts? That is why Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko put forward the initiative to embark on a global dialogue on security,” the Belarusian foreign minister noted.

“We will continue to knock on the doors of peace and creation, security and development. Since last year, Minsk has been hosting a big international conference on Eurasian security. This event is designed to consolidate political, economic and other processes in the Greater Eurasia in the interests of states and peoples. This year it will be held on 31 October. We invite everyone to attend. We must reinvigorate the UN and fill it with the spirit of San Francisco that once gave life to our Organization. We believe that this is vitally important today. This will benefit all people on the planet,” the foreign minister said.
