Lukashenko advocates progressive economic development, without drastic reforms

21/01/2025 14:01
MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) – I am against drastic economic reforms, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the labor collectives of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) and other enterprises of the MAZ holding company on 21 January, BelTA has learned.

“Based on our previous experience, standing on the shoulders of the past generations -our giants, we continue to gradually build our economy. There should be no radical reforms! Everything grows out of something. Maybe we need to break something as we broke the old farms. But tomorrow we must have the most advanced dairy complexes in their stead,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.

“We will move gradually. I'll say it once again that each of us must do our own thing. You do what you do at your workplace; I do what I have to do at mine. If we do our jobs well, if we cope with our work, we will live normally, without war,” the president said.
