MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated active and retired employees of the State Security Committee (KGB) on their professional holiday - the Day of the State Security Officer,

“Since the inception of the special service, security officers have been at the forefront of protecting the state, defending its sovereignty and independence, they have demonstrated exceptional fortitude, determination and courage in the fight against the enemy, being a paragon of true patriotism,” the message of congratulations reads.
Continuing the glorious traditions of the Belarusian special service, the KGB officers are fighting on the frontline hidden from people's eyes, amidst unprecedented hybrid threats to national security, the head of state emphasized. “The results of your work have an impact on most important political decisions, largely determining the future of the Motherland, and therefore the fate of millions of people,” the president remarked.
Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked everyone for their high professionalism, impeccable service and absolute dedication. “I have no doubts that responding to the challenges of the time, you will do everything to prop up the country's standing in the changing world, preserving peace and stability in our native land,” the Belarusian leader noted.
The head of state addressed special words of gratitude to veterans of state security agencies, to all who made an invaluable contribution to bringing the Great Victory closer, to those who preserved and passed on the best traditions shaping today’s special service.
The president wished the KGB active and retired employees happiness and well-being, health and optimism, new successes and achievements in the name of Belarus.
