Over 1,300 applications submitted to latest project 100 Ideas for Belarus

Over 1,300 applications for participation in the 15th season of the republican youth project 100 Ideas for Belarus have been submitted, BelTA learned from Anzhelika Yavnykh, Head of the Information and Digital Communications Department of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union BRSM.

The ceremony to launch the new season took place at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 23 October. During the ceremony the organizers announced that applications for participation in the contest were open then. “Applications could be submitted via the 100ideas.by website till 20 November. Then the organizing committee reviewed the submitted proposals and organized an incoming expert evaluation. As a result, a databank of projects has been put together for participation in elimination rounds. Over 1,300 submitted ideas will be evaluated by experts during the new season,” Anzhelika Yavnykh said.

“District and zonal elimination rounds are being held all over the country till 20 December. As many as 41 district rounds and 24 zonal ones will be held. Meanwhile, a selection process is in progress in higher education institutions. In order to prepare the authors for participation in consequent stages specialized training sessions will be arranged. They will focus on the creation of presentations, promotion and realization of youth R&D projects,” she added.

Winners will be granted the right to participate in oblast elimination rounds as well as in elimination rounds of the Education Ministry and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. These events are scheduled to take place till the end of January 2026.

Participants have been divided into three age groups in the 15th season of the project. The expert council will choose three winners in every nomination from among students of general secondary education, vocational training, and secondary specialized education institutions; students and cadets of higher education institutions; working young people, young scientists, representatives of the organizations run by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The nominations include “Power engineering, including nuclear power engineering, and energy efficiency”, “Agribusiness technologies and farming”, “Industrial and construction technologies”, “Healthcare (medical technologies, pharmaceutics, bio- and nano-industry)”, “Chemical technologies, petrochemistry”, “Information and communication technologies (including intelligent systems and automation, smart cities and sustainability, digital healthcare, information technologies in education, social inclusion technologies, digital ethics, and cybersecurity)”, “Ecology (preservation and restoration of the natural environment, rational (sustainable) use of natural resources and their reproduction, prevention of harmful effects on the environment)”, “National security and emergency response”, “Society and social sphere”, “The best business idea”.

The Belarusian Republican Youth Union BRSM announced the launch of the first republican youth project 100 Ideas for Belarus back in September 2011. The project is being implemented by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union BRSM in association with the Education Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the State Committee on Science and Technology. The goals include encouraging innovative thinking among young people, getting young people involved in the accomplishment of the country’s social and economic development tasks, stimulating grassroots initiatives for implementing innovative projects and R&D efforts.
