Sister cities of Belarus, Russia exchange best practices

BREST, 29 September (BelTA) - Economy, social security and people's diplomacy top the agenda of the ongoing 12th Forum of Sister Cities of Belarus and Russia in Brest, BelTA has learned.

The official opening ceremony of the event is scheduled for 29 September. The delegations began their work a day earlier with a visit to the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. 

As part of a plenary session and breakout sessions at various sites in Brest, the participants of the forum will focus their attention on economic and business cooperation, Belarusian-Russian interaction taking into account the current global situation and sanctions pressure. They also plan to discuss social policy and people's diplomacy, education and culture. The participants of the forum are expected to visit Brest Science and Technology Park, a medical complex, Pushkin Brest State University.

More than 200 participants have already arrived in Brest from different regions of Belarus, as well as Russian cities, including Khabarovsk, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Podolsk, and Pskov.
