MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – Medical specialists from Uzbekistan are currently training at the Brest Oblast clinical hospital, chief physician Aleksandr Karpitsky
told BelTA.
Cooperation between the Brest Oblast clinical hospital and the Bukhara Oblast multidisciplinary medical center began more than two years ago. The healthcare institutions established bilateral ties, started exchanging delegations and sharing expertise. “During this period, our cardiac surgeons, cardio-anesthesiologists, transplant specialists and gynecologists visited Bukhara on business trips, held seminars and workshops on various surgical procedures. In total, according to the data I have, more than 300 surgeries were performed (both by our staff and jointly) in different areas, including abdominal and thoracic operations, as well as related-organ transplants,” Aleksandr Karpitsky said.
Last year, ten specialists from the Bukhara Oblast multidisciplinary medical center completed training at the Brest Oblast clinical hospital. “This spring, three more specialists arrived. They plan to stay with us until September. They are training directly at the workplace in cardiac surgery, anesthesiology and perfusion,” the chief physician noted.
Uzbekistan’s doctors are particularly interested in the experience of Brest specialists in surgical techniques and management of cardiac-surgery patients. “One of the main issues they raise is their wish for us to continue training them in organ transplantation,” Aleksandr Karpitsky added.
Delegations from Bukhara Oblast and Syrdarya Oblast of Uzbekistan paid an official visit to Brest Oblast on 6-7 July. On 7 July, a meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s official and business circles and Brest Oblast Governor Piotr Parkhomchik. Cooperation plans for 2026-2027 were signed between Belarusian and Uzbek regions.
