MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – As of 1 November 2023 a total of 131,993 large families have opened the deposit accounts in Belarus under the family capital program, including about 82,600 deposit accounts at the total amount of $826 million and 49,400 deposit accounts at the total amount of Br1.2 billion, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
As of 1 November a total of 78,677 families applied for permission to use family capital ahead of schedule. Of them, 64,211 applied to use the money to improve housing conditions, 8,297 to receive healthcare services, 6,164 to pay for education and five to buy health products for disabled people.
The ministry granted permission to use family capital earlier to 76,220 applicants. Most of such applicants are from Brest Oblast (16,090). Then goes Vitebsk Oblast with 7,389 families, Gomel Oblast with 12,326, Grodno Oblast – 9,019, Minsk Oblast – 13,125, Mogilev Oblast – 7,655 and the city of Minsk – 10,616.
The Labor and Social Security Ministry noted that the family capital program applies to families raising three and more children. From 1 January till 31 December 2023 the family capital equals Br29,950.
