Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo told the ONT TV channel about the impact of weather conditions on crops, BelTA informs.
According to the minister, agricultural workers undertook all the necessary measures in full and on time. “We should give credit to our farmers, as well as to the president and the government for providing financial assistance on time. This concerns fuel, equipment repairs, and so on,” Igor Brylo emphasized.
“We have sown everything on time, but the heat is a little unsettling. And we are starting to worry a little. Now we are busy harvesting grasses for fodder. We will resow great patches of land because our crops were affected by the heat stress. We will harvest, feed and wait for rain to start the second round of grass cutting,” the minister said.
“Weather conditions are quite a factor. Everyone sees how long we have not had rain. Nevertheless, I think we will find a way out of this situation,” he concluded.
