MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – Three million tonnes of grain crops have already been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 7 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 894,400 hectares, which is 46.7% of the designated area. Some 3.034 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 33.9 centners per hectare.
Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 313,900 hectares of land or 95.3% of the targeted area, with 883,700 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.2 centners per hectare.
Flax was pulled from 31,200 hectares, which is 71.5% of the area under this crop. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 431,600 hectares.
