MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) - Some 8.4 million tonnes of grain crops and rapeseed have been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 13 October, some 8,451,700 tonnes of grain crops and rapeseed were cropped in Belarus. This included 7,410,900 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops as well as corn.
Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Minsk Oblast have completed planted winter crops. Across the country winter grain crops have been sown on 1,427,600 hectares (92.9% of the plan).
Harvesting of corn kernels is underway in all the regions of the country, with 126,600 hectares already cleared. Some 1,027,900 tonnes of corn kernels were threshed, with the yields averaging 81.2 centners per hectare. Some 19,567,600 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
All regions have completed buckwheat harvesting.
Belarus harvested 689,800 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 352.1 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is also in progress in Belarus. Some 2,257,300 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields standing at 457.2 centners per hectare.
