26.10.2023 16:10

MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarus proposes to convene a summit to discuss the Eurasian security architecture, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik said when speaking at the high-level conference "Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World" in Minsk on 26 October, BelTA has learned.

"We all need to work towards a summit of the heads of state of Eurasian countries to discuss the future architecture of Eurasian security, an architecture that would ensure lasting peace on our common large continent. Peace is needed for progress and sustainable development of countries and peoples," Sergei Aleinik stressed.

The minister expects that the ideas developed during the conference will not remain on paper but will be further developed. "The format of this conference, if necessary, will be continued, and we will meet again in Minsk next year," he said.
