Belarus seeks to bolster ties with Uzbekistan

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - Belarus attaches the utmost importance to strengthening and further development of relations with Uzbekistan, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov on 14 March, BelTA has learned.

“Our country places the utmost importance on strengthening and further development of relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan. Our relations have always been based on friendship and mutual understanding,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

The high-level dialogue between Presidents Aleksandr Lukashenko and Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been highly productive, the speaker said. “We highly appreciate the visit of our head of state to Uzbekistan last February. It gave an additional impetus to the development of our relations. These contacts at the highest political level contribute to the development of economic relations as well,” he added.
