MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) - Director of Belinterexpo of the Belarusian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Natalya Kurash told the media
which African countries Belarusian companies can go to in order to
present their exhibitions this year following the press-brunch “Belarus
in the international exhibition arena: current trends and promising
projects” on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
Among the new countries where Belinterexpo plans to organize
exhibitions this year are the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. Apart
from that, the company is working out Belarus' participation in the
SIAL Shenzhen 2025. According to Natalya Kurash, it can be quite
difficult to enter new countries, because companies are wary of
innovations and are sometimes slow in taking a decision to participate.
However, the risk is often justified. “We have been taking part in the
Gulfood expo in Dubai for 10 years already. It took some time for the
exhibition to become popular, and now it represents the whole world,”
she emphasized.
When forming the calendar of exhibitions, Belinterexpo takes into
account the presence of foreign participants; these are not just local
fairs. “Bilateral cooperation is a good thing, but international
participation is of crucial importance. It shows that the exhibition is
in demand,” the Belinterexpo director said.
The focus is also on African countries, with the plans to display a
national exposition in Equatorial Guinea and present the country’s
potential in Algeria. Namibia, Ghana, Uganda, and Tanzania are also in
the plans. “Some have changed their dates, and if these exhibitions are
going to attract fewer people because of this, we will have to cancel
our participation there. We do not want to spend the money of our
enterprises and go to places where they do not know anyone,” Natalya
Kurash said.
