MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – It is necessary to promptly lift the barriers that stand in the way of selling products made by companies residing in free economic zones (FEZ) on the markets of Eurasian Economic Union countries. Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko mentioned it during a working trip to FEZ Brest, the ministry's press service told BelTA.

Alesya Abramenko visited the resident companies OOO Arlight & Co and OOO Battery Alliance. She was made familiar with their manufacturing processes and discussed matters of current interest.

It was mentioned that certain barriers impede sales of Belarusian products on the Russian market and prevent the participation of individual enterprises in government procurement procedures.

Alesya Abramenko remarked that in view of tough competition and an active search for new market niches it is necessary to promptly remove the barriers standing in the way of selling products made by FEZ companies on EAEU markets and it is necessary to enable all the conditions for effective business inside the country.

“Only by providing proper support for domestic manufacturers, we can aspire for high effectiveness figures and a high pace of realization of investment projects,” Alesya Abramenko stressed.

Later on the deputy economy minister went to an investment site where OOO Arlight & Co is implementing a new project to build an enterprise to make extruded aluminum profiles.

The project's implementation will allow investing about $7 million into the local economy and creating over 100 jobs. The company intends to export more than half of the output. “The establishment of such manufacturing enterprises will increase the export potential of FEZ Brest and of Brest Oblast,” Alesya Abramenko noted.
