
MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) - As of 20 September, some 7,505,500 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
This included 6,467,800 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and 1,037,800 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 14,200 hectares of land already cleared. Some 106,400 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 74.9 centners per hectare. Some 9,894,300 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 39,400 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 14.7 centners per hectare) and 17,500 tonnes of millet (yields reach 19.1 centners per hectare) were threshed.
The flax straw harvest exceeded 105,200 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 83% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested some 275,700 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 352.3 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 770,000 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields reaching up to 449.7 centners per hectare.
