MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - Representatives of the CSTO member states agreed on the plans for the CSTO joint military exercises at meetings in Brest on 6-8 June, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.
As previously reported, CSTO representatives discussed the organization and conduct of the joint exercise of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces Vzaimodeistviye 2023 [Interaction] and a number of other exercises: Poisk 2023 [Search] special exercise with reconnaissance forces and assets, Barrier 2023 special exercise of radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support units and the Eshelon 2023 [Echelon] exercise with logistics support forces and assets
The talks were attended by representatives of the ministries and departments of the CSTO member countries and the Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff. The parties agreed on the plans for joint exercises, heard the reports from the CSTO Secretariat on coordinating the participation of international organizations and observers in the exercises.
The participants of the talks considered the sites of the exercises. The parties approved the composition of the command and control bodies and troops that will be involved in the exercises and the procedure for drilling practical actions.
The heads of delegations signed a corresponding protocol following the second staff talks.
