Plans to set up public election observation center for presidential election in Belarus

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) -  A public election observation center will be set up for the presidential election in Belarus, CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko told the media in Minsk on 20 November, BelTA has learned.

"Public associations are planning to set up a Public election observation center. It will be based in the Palace of Trade Unions. It will feed its data to the CEC Information Center," Igor Karpenko said.

The information center is designed to provide timely updates on the presidential election campaign. It will be  working at the Palace of the Republic on 24-27 January. “Representatives of mainstream national media organizations and foreign media accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be able to report from the center. In addition, foreign (international) observers accredited by the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the expert community, will also be able to work at the information center,” he said. “On 26 January, we will go live to inform journalists, international and domestic observers, the public about the voting process, about the voter turnout. We will have live broadcasts from the regional and district territorial commissions and precinct commissions."

Belarus’ presidential election will be held on 26 January 2025.
