MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Winter barley in Belarus has been harvested from 28% of the areas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 8 July, a total of 294,000 tonnes have been threshed, with an average yield of 42 centners per hectare. By region, the harvest looks as follows: Brest Oblast – 115,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 81,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 64,000 tonnes, Minsk Oblast – 26,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 7,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – less than 1,000 tonnes.

First cut was completed across an area of 1.380 million hectares, or 99% of the plan. Second cut was harvested across an area of 354,000 hectares or 35% of the plan (1.010 million hectares).
Hay production has reached 320,000 tonnes or 45% of the plan. Silage output has reached 9.245 million tonnes or 65% of the target. Region-by-region silage figures are: Minsk Oblast - 2.290 million tonnes (65% of target); Brest Oblast – 1.634 million tonnes (54%); Grodno Oblast - 1.612 million tonnes (60%); Mogilev Oblast - 1.386 million tonnes (83%); Vitebsk Oblast – 1.205 million tonnes (63%); Gomel Oblast – 1.119 million tonnes (73%).
Silage harvest currently stands at 283,000 tonnes, or 1% of the target (which stands at 20.519 million tonnes). Grass forage has been harvested in the amount of 2.826 million tonnes of feed units or 28% of the target (10.131 million tonnes).
Flax has been pulled across the area of 4,000 hectares, or 10% of the target.
