On December,27 the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed Anatoly Lis the chairman of Brest Regional Executive Committee.
On a special session of Brest Regional Council of Deputies, which was held on December, 28th his candidacy was unanimously supported by the deputies.
While introducing Anatoly Lis to the activists of Brest region in a new post, the Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov stated that the new governor assumed office in a very demanding period & expressed confidence that executive staff would support him.
“When Anatoly Vasilyevich [Lis] was appointed by the head of state he received concrete instructions regarding the development of the Brest Oblast economy which has a huge potential,” the prime minister said. He also expressed confidence that the new governor with the assistance of Brest Oblast companies will manage to promote the development of the region's economy and fulfill all tasks.
