The documents were signed by Brest Oblast Vice Governor Andrei Klets and heads of the companies, who are willing to invest in the Brest Oblast economy. In particular, there are plans to spend over Br3 million with assistance of Russian capital to start making geosynthetic materials in Pinsk. As many as 80 jobs will be created. An agreement was signed on building a mushroom farm in Baranovichi. Over Br12 million will be invested by a UK company and 80 jobs will be created. An agreement was reached on setting up an IT cluster in Brest. Approximately over Br12 million (Polish capital) will be invested in the project, with 40 jobs to be created.

Epol Soft Company will invest in its own production sites in Brest. The IT cluster will be located in Respubliki Avenue. “It is necessary to encourage our IT companies to relocate there,” Brest Mayor Aleksandr Rogachuk said. He added that foreign visitors showed interest in the companies represented during the B2B contact fair. “We are showing all of our capabilities to the guests. One thousand years since the city was founded represents an opportunity for attracting more attention of investors to Brest. Last year we received about $12 million in foreign direct investments. There are all reasons to increase this volume in 2019,” the mayor stressed.

A total of 28 investment contracts worth about $150 million are being implemented in Brest Oblast this year. “If we talk about last year, the region received over $92 million in foreign direct investments, nearly 8% up from 2017,” concluded Mikhail Batsenko, Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.
