RPCC as the regional methodical center exists for 65 years, in its structure there are such departments as of culture and rest; information and analytic; repertoire and publishing; traditional culture. It also carries out a policy in development of national creativity, preservation of traditional culture, organization of leisure of people through work of club establishments.
Club establishments
At the present time in the region there are 701 club establishments, including 594 Houses of Culture and Club and 107 new types of establishments of culture (Houses of Crafts, Folklore, National Creativity, etc.).
More than 14 thousand concerts of amateur collectives and about 100 thousand mass actions is annually organized for the population, both in walls of establishments of culture, and on residence and works. It became a tradition to carry out holidays of cities, villages, streets, celebrations of veterans, leaders of manufacture, family dynasties, «Dozhinki», holidays of a crop, fair in the region. National holidays revive, the actions devoted to the state holidays enter into practice.
Amateur performances
A wide network of circles and collectives of amateur performances, amateur associations develop of creative abilities of residents of the region, revealing of their individual talents. More than 50 thousand residents of the region is visited with occupations in 3719 collectives of amateur performances and 998 amateur associations. 313 creative collectives of the region are awarded with honorary titles «national» and «exemplary», 3 - «Deserved amateur collective of Belarus». It is Ensemble of Dance «Pleasure» of the Brest City House of Culture (2002), Ensemble of a Folk Music and Songs «Poleshuki» (2003) of Ivanovo Center of Culture Both National Traditions and Ensemble of Folk Music «Vycinanka» (2004) of Stolin City House of Culture.
In 2001 a disk with records of songs and instrumental compositions of the best collectives of amateur performances of the Brest oblast «Belavezhskiya tunes» has been released.
Traditional culture, National crafts
One of mainstreams in activity of club establishments is revival, careful preservation and promotion of song, dancing and musical folklore, traditional arts and crafts of Brestchina. For about 9 thousand masters of 40 kinds of crafts work and 24 clubs of masters are created in oblast. 46 schools of national creativity where is engaged about 1,5 thousand children, became a way for transferring to rising generation of traditional national culture.
Stolin region is famous for pottery, Ivanovo and Pruzhany districts are famous for cooperage, Baranovichi and Berioza regions are famous for rod and straw braiding, and Malorita region is famous for weaving and embroidery. A unique form of weaving has been preserved in Kamenets region: stock weaving.
