The Chinese delegation has been working in Brest Oblast for the third day already. It has already visited Bereza District and Drogichin District. Today they are working in Brest. “The main goal of the visit is to get familiar with local food companies. Some of our companies have already been supplying products to China. Now our biggest meat plants, namely Brest Meat Packing Plant and Bereza Meat Packing Plant, are undergoing certification. Other food companies join this work once they find partners,” Andrei Klets said. According to him, Brest Oblast and Chinese regions are mutually interested in the development of relations: bilateral visits of delegations have lately become more frequent, the trade has increased significantly.
The Bengbu delegation held talks with the Brest plant executives to discuss the possible supplies of beef. “We made sure that your companies produce high-quality goods. This is especially true for meat, milk, alcohol,” said Qin Wu, vice mayor of the Municipal People's Government of Bengbu. “We are discussing cooperation in various sectors, but we need to begin with trade first. We also would like to cooperate in education, culture, tourism. The areas are many. We just need to make efforts,” he said.
“We are planning to increase the pace. This year we want to supply $3 million worth of goods to China. We also welcome Chinese investments in the real sector of the Brest economy, in particular in Brestselmash plant, Brest Electromechanical Plant, Brest Plant of Household Cleaning Goods, hospitality business,” Brest mayor Alexander Rogachuk said.
At the end of the visit to Brest, the Chinese delegation visited the memorial complex Brest Hero Fortress.
