Reconstruction of two Belarusian-Polish border crossings in Brest Oblast to end by 2023

Three customs clearance stations – Kozlovichi, Varshavsky Most, and Mokrany – will be reconstructed in Brest Oblast, BelTA learned from Sergei Yakuta, chief of the Brest branch of the Belarusian customs service.

According to the source, reconstruction will increase the throughput capacity of the border crossings. It will make border crossing experience safer and more comfortable. Among other things it will be a boon for the country's transit tourism appeal.

In particular, technological channels will be reconstructed at the border crossing Kozlovichi. The pavement surface will be renewed, modern modules for customs service and border service personnel will be installed. Additional weights to expedite the passage of trucks across the border will be installed.

Sergei Yakuta pointed out that the border crossings will work as usual during the reconstruction process. Their throughput capacity will not be reduced. Citizens are likely to experience slight discomfort but the border crossings Varshavsky Most and Mokrany will be reconstructed this year while Kozlovichi will be reconstructed next year.

More than 20 recruits joining the Brest branch of the Belarusian customs service took their oaths of allegiance to the Belarusian nation and the state in the Brest Fortress Defense Museum on 20 September, on the Belarusian customs service's professional holiday. The tradition is 18 years old already.
