Development of Entrepreneurship in Brest Region

Small business enterprises: 36485 individual entrepreneurs, 5836 private commercial organisations, 432 enterprises with foreign investments, 454 farm enterprises were registered on the tax books as to the date March, 1, 2008.
As compared with beginning of the year the quantity of registered individual entrepreneurs (+758), private commercial organizations (+862) increased.
Creation of new working places
16076 new working places (105% to the corresponding period of the year 2006) were created in the sphere of small enterprise during the year 2007. In the small towns 3482 new working places (21,7% of the total number) were created.
8 budgetary loans from the regional budget were allocated in the year 2007 to the subjects of small business with a view to expand production and to create new working places within the framework of fulfillment of the regional Programme of state support and development of small business for the period 2006-2010 years.
